Rifle Police investigating hit-and-run

RIFLE, Colo. (KREX) — Police in Rifle are still investigating a fatal hit-and-run that happened at 4:50 a.m. April 29 on the Rifle River Bridge.

Ramon Chacon was hit and killed by a silver 2005 to 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee with possible tinted windows.

The vehicle is believed to have significant damage to the front end and hood.

Rifle Police Chief Debra Funston released a statement saying “Our hearts go out to the family and friends affected by this devastating incident. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time, and we extend our sincerest condolences as they navigate through their grief.”
