Ridgeview Elementary concludes 15th annual used-book drive

GRAY, Tenn. (WJHL) – Ridgeview Elementary School concluded its 15th annual used-book drive and fourth annual Read-a-thon to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s legacy and the NEA’s Read Across America Day on Monday, the school announced.

The students enjoyed literary activities throughout the week that included the following:

  • Sharing a Book of The Day with the theme of perseverance

  • Elementary/Middle school reading buddies

  • Used book drive and Read-a-thon

  • Readapalooza- special reading celebrations in each classroom

  • Read aloud visits from Daniel Boone High School Beta Club to K-4 classrooms

Ridgeview families donated books for the used book drive, the school said in the release.
