Get rid of unwanted prescriptions on Drug Take Back Day

(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — On Saturday, April 27 Colorado will participate in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) National Drug Take Back Day.

On Saturday, there will be locations across Colorado where people can take unwanted, unused, and expired prescription medications to be disposed of safely. The drugs will be accepted anonymously from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and there is no charge for the service.

According to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), items that cannot be accepted at the Drug Take Back are needles and sharps, mercury thermometers, oxygen containers, chemotherapy/radioactive substances, pressurized canisters, and illicit drugs.
