38 Special is no stranger to the Druid City, having played with the Steve Miller Band in 2015, and Hank Williams, Jr. in 2012.

The Jacksonville, Florida, band was founded in 1974 by Don Barnes, the only original member who’s still with the group. Though he went solo in 1987, the guitarist/vocalist returned to the fold in 1992.

Barnes sang lead on their hits “Hold On Loosely,” “Rockin’ into the Night,” “Teacher Teacher,” “Caught Up in You,” “You Keep Running Away,” “If I’d Been the One,” “ Like No Other Night,” “Somebody Like You” and others. The band’s other co-founder and singer, Donnie Van Zant, retired from the band in 2013, due to health issues.
