LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Caesars Palace is partnering with chef Rick Bayless to bring acclaimed Mexican restaurant Tortazo to Las Vegas in late summer of 2024.

An announcement from Caesars Entertainment said the Michelin-starred chef’s restaurant will also go into its Harrah’s Joliet (Illinois) location in the spring.

“I’m thrilled to partner with Caesars to open Tortazo at two of their incredible destinations, and I’m especially excited to open another so close to home,” Bayless said, who opened Frontera Grill in Chicago in 1987. He opened Tortazo there in 2020.

“The Caesars brand is synonymous with great hospitality, something that inspired the creation of Tortazo, so it feels like the perfect fit,” Bayless said.

Tortazo is a fast-casual Mexican restaurant “inspired by Mexico City’s gracious hospitality and colorful culture,” according to the announcement.

“The menu highlights the famous Mexican sandwich – the Torta – while offering guests a variety of bold and flavorful Mexican dishes like mouthwatering tacos, quesadillas and house-made churros,” the announcement said.

Caesars President Anthony Carano said, “Chef Rick is a powerhouse – bringing a new, eclectic offering to our brand – and is the perfect addition to our roster of culinary superstars that our guests can experience and enjoy across the Empire.”
