Richard Hammond speaks out after motorbike crash
Richard Hammond has spoken out after it was reported that he had been badly hurt in a motorcycle accident while filming The Grand Tour.
The TV presenter was filming scenes for the second series of the popular Amazon show when he fell off a motorcycle and hurt his head.
Taking to his motoring website Drivetribe, Hammond reassured fans by saying: "Thanks for enquiries re my slight shunt whilst filming for GT.
"I can confirm that yes, I fell off a bike, many times in fact, and yes, I banged my head and everything else.
"But life goes on."
This is the petrol-head's second injury while filming a TV stunt, and comes 11 years after he crashed a jet-powered car at 288mph on BBC Two's Top Gear – an incident which left him in a coma for two weeks.
The vehicle's right tyre blew and Hammond had to be airlifted to hospital in Leeds in a serious condition in 2006.
The latest accident occurred as the TV presenter was filming scenes for the second series of the popular Amazon show when, according to The Sun, he fell off a motorcycle and sustained further injuries to his head.
Hammond, Jeremy Clarkson and James May flew to Mozambique a fortnight ago and it's believed this is where the accident took place.
