Ribbon-cutting held for Little Rock “100 Affordable Homes” initiative

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The door has been unlocked on a new affordable housing option in Little Rock.

The City of Little Rock held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of a three-bedroom and two-bath home on Bowers Street in Southwest Little Rock.

The home is part of Mayor Frank Scott, Jr’s “100 Affordable Homes” initiative, bringing home ownership within reach of communities south of Interstate 630 and east of I-30.

Little Rock officials hold groundbreaking for affordable housing

“This really does open up home ownership to residents,” Housing and Neighborhood Programs Assistant Director Brian Contino said “And allows people to have their own property and call something home.”

The city has nearly 50 properties in its initiative. This is just the first stage of development in that specific neighborhood.

There will be a total of sixteen affordable housing units in the John Barrow community when the project is complete.
