Ribbon cutting ceremony for new Langley VA clinic at JBLE

FORT EUSTIS, Va. (WAVY) – On Monday, a ribbon cutting ceremony took place for the new Langley VA Clinic at Joint Base Langley-Eustis.

The clinic was established through the 633d Medical Group and Hampton Veterans Affairs Healthcare System (VAHCS). It was designed to help address the needs of the growing veteran population locally, and to serve up to 10,000 Veteran patients.

“We are excited to partner with the VA and provide them additional capacity to deliver care to our Tidewater Veterans,’ said U.S. Air Force Col. Nathan Kellett, 633d Medical Group commander. “This is a great first step as we explore opportunities to increase federal resource sharing that will enhance our medical readiness and create improved access to vital care for our nation’s heroes.”

The clinic will provide outpatient primary care services to veterans. According to the press release, services at the clinic will include: annual check-ups, screenings, chronic and acute illness management, mental health assistance, and more. The clinic will also allocate rooms for dental services.

“This partnership exemplifies our commitment to utilizing existing federal resources to rapidly meet the health care needs of our Veterans,” said Dr. Taquisa K. Simmons, Executive Director of Hampton VAHCS. “By collaborating with the 633D Medical Group, we are not only expanding our services, but also ensuring our Veterans receive the comprehensive care they deserve.”

The clinic will serve veterans enrolled through the VA. To schedule an appointment, separated or retired military members will need to work through the VA. Active-duty service members will not receive treatment in the Langley VA Clinic.
