Rhode Island gas prices up a penny from last week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Drivers in Rhode Island saw a slight increase in gas prices last week.

The weekly survey by AAA Southern New England, released Monday, showed the average price of a gallon of self-serve, regular gas was $3.60. That's a penny up from where the price had been sitting for the three prior weeks.

The current price is 4 cents higher than the national average of $3.56 and 9 cents higher than it was a year ago at this time.

The survey found prices statewide were as low as $3.51 per gallon and as high as $3.79.
