RI gas prices down by 2 cents

Rhode Island gas prices drop 2 cents; local price now on par with national average

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Gas prices in Rhode Island have dipped by 2 cents a gallon.

Monday's price survey from AAA Southern New England finds that a gallon of self-serve, regular gasoline in the state is averaging $3.50, down from $3.52 last week.

The local price is on par with the national average, and is 23 cents less than the price in Rhode Island last month.

A year ago at this time Rhode Islanders were paying an average of $3.92 a gallon, or 42 cents more than today.
