RI gas prices climb by 12 cents since last week; fuel costs 14 cents higher than US average
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Gas prices have jumped 12 cents in Rhode Island in the past week.
AAA Southern New England reported Monday that the average price of regular gasoline in the state is $3.66 per gallon. The price is 13 cents higher than a month ago and 14 cents higher than this week's national average.
AAA says the price increase was prompted by a recent bump in the cost of crude oil.
Rhode Islanders were paying an average of $3.58 for a gallon of regular gasoline a year ago.
