RI businesses face Sunday deadline for reports

RI secretary of state reminding business owners of March 31 deadline to file annual reports

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Rhode Island's secretary of state is reminding business owners of a Sunday deadline to file their annual reports with the state.

More than 30,000 businesses in Rhode Island must file their reports with Ralph Mollis' office by March 31 or face fines and penalties. Mollis says owners can submit the reports online at his website.

Mollis says that more than half of all annual reports have been filed online since the electronic option was made available a few years ago. This year's reports can be submitted as late as 11:59 p.m. on Sunday.

Reports can also be filed in person at the secretary of state's corporations division on West River Street by the close of business Friday.
