Rhymefest Shares Video Of What Happened When He Tried To Report A Crime

Yesterday morning, Rhymefest was robbed at gunpoint in Chicago. The incident happened around 7:30am, according to a series of tweets the rapper posted on his twitter account. However, the situation become more disturbing after Rhymefest, whose real name is Che Smith, also posted a video of how he was treated at a Chicago police station after he tried to report the robbery.

The Chicago Tribune states that a man jumped into Smith's parked car, put a gun to his head, and demanded his wallet. Afterwards, Smith went to a nearby police station to file a report. However, as you can see in the video he shared on twitter, the interaction between him and the police officers at the station did not go smoothly. In the clip, you see the police officers ask Smith to leave after he pulls out the camera, to which he says, "I don't feel comfortable because I feel like I'm being treated ... when the camera goes off, you all start telling me to get out, I can't make a report."

After Smith posted his experience on social media, Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi tweeted back an apology. "Disappointing to say the least," he writes. "On behalf of CPD, I apologize for how you were treated. We will be addressing this today."
