Rhode Island gas prices up another 5 cents

Average price of gas in RI up another nickel; cost has risen 28 cents in the last month

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are continuing their steady climb, and are up another five cents.

AAA Southern New England says the average cost of a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.79, up from $3.74 last week.

Prices in the state are 28 cents higher than they were a month ago. The current price is 6 cents above the per-gallon national average of $3.73.

Rhode Islanders were paying on average $3.68 a gallon a year ago at this time.
