Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will announce his running mate in California at the end of the month, his campaign said Wednesday.

The environmental and anti-vaccine activist has reportedly already made a decision on his vice presidential pick from a short list that includes NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers and former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura.

The announcement will take place on March 26 in Oakland, California.

Other possible picks included Tulsi Gabbard, a former congressmember who left the Democratic Party, and GOP Sen. Rand Paul, who indicated he would decline if asked to join the presidential ticket.

Kennedy, who initially ran as a Democrat but later switched to run as an independent, needs to list a vice presidential candidate in about 24 states to collect valid signatures to appear on the ballot.
