Reward increased for information on Hammond man who’s been missing since 2023

HAMMOND, La. (WGNO) — The reward amount for information on a Hammond man, who has been missing since 2023, has been increased.

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards said the reward amount has been raised to $5,000 for information on the disappearance or location of 52-year-old Stephen J. Cottier.

According to Edwards, Cottier was last seen on Oct. 13, 2023, and texted a friend on Oct. 14, 2023, saying he was coming back to Hammond from Covington.

Deputies said Cottier has not returned.

TPSO officials said Cottier was known to drive a blue Ford F-150 with a Louisiana license plate Z517286. Since his disappearance, he has reportedly been seen on Highway 40 in the Uneedus area.
