Reuben Foster will not be at 49ers activities until domestic violence case ends

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster will not participate in team events until his domestic violence case is resolved. The team announced Sunday that Foster will be away from the team while “tending to his legal matters.”

Foster was charged with felony domestic violence against his live-in girlfriend. Foster is accused of punched her in the head between eight to 10 times, pulling her hair and rupturing her eardrum.

The 24-year-old Foster was charged with three felonies: Domestic violence, attempting to prevent a victim from reporting a crime and possession of an assault weapon.

At the time the charges came down, the 49ers released a statement saying they were aware of the “disturbing charges” against Foster. They added that his status with the organization would depend on “what is learned through the legal process.” The team repeated the last part of that statement Sunday.

The 49ers are set to begin the first part of their offseason program Monday.

Foster racked up 59 tackles in 10 starts with the 49ers in 2017. He was already subject to a league suspension in 2018 after getting charged with marijuana possession in January.
