Elmira, N.Y. (WETM)- We saw some activity overnight, but that has quickly moved through the region, so we’ll return to quiet weather today. How long are we settled for? Details below:

TODAY:

Showers from overnight quickly rolled through the region and left only a few stray sprinkles under mostly cloudy skies this morning. The rest of the morning will see decreasing clouds as we head into a mostly sunny afternoon. We’ll be breezy behind a weak cold front associated with the area of low pressure from this morning, and the sunshine will help us get into the low 80s this afternoon.

TONIGHT:

We remain dry tonight, but clouds begin to build back into the region overnight ahead of scattered rainfall tomorrow. Temperatures tonight are cooler behind the weak cold front, with lows in the upper 40s and low 50s.

REST OF THE WEEK:

We can expect isolated showers for the first half of tomorrow, with more widespread rain moving in late Thursday and into Friday. Friday will start with widespread showers, and kick off a wet weekend with several shortwaves expected to pass the region through Sunday.
