Return to Nature co-owner due in court over failure to appear

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Carie Hallford, one of the co-owners of Return to Nature Funeral Home, has been ordered to appear in court to explain missing a required monitoring as part of her release conditions.

Carie Hallford and her husband Jon Hallford are facing a number of charges after nearly 200 bodies were found improperly stored at the couple’s Return to Nature funeral home in Penrose.

According to the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office (DA’s Office) on Wednesday, March 7 Carie Hallford failed to appear for a required sobriety monitoring as part of her release conditions.

The DA’s Office said Hallford must now appear in court on Thursday, March 14 to explain why.
