Retired Girard College Teacher and Boy Scout Leader facing child abuse charges

68-year-old Keith Steiniger, a former teacher who spent 41 years teaching at Girard College, now faces charges that include sexual contact with a minor. Steiniger retired from Girard College in July 2022. On January 25th, 2024, the Upland Borough Police received a call about a possible sexual assault involving a child. The former teacher has been remanded to the George W. Hill Correctional Facility on $250,000 bail. Steiniger is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on May 2, 2024.
