Retail gasoline prices tumble 12 cents in Texas

HOUSTON (AP) — Retail gasoline prices have taken a tumble this week across Texas.

AAA Texas on Thursday reported the statewide average price fell 12 cents to settle at $3.39 per gallon. The national average price at the pump slipped 14 cents, to reach $3.60 per gallon.

The association survey found El Paso has the most expensive gasoline in Texas at $3.49 per gallon. Fort Worth and Galveston posted the least expensive gasoline statewide at $3.34 per gallon.

The Energy Department says U.S. oil supplies grew last week by 5.9 million barrels, or 1.6 percent. The nation's oil inventory, at 375.1 million barrels, is 11.1 percent above year-ago levels.
