Here are the results of Saturday's elections in Northeast Louisiana

The adage, "every vote counts" was demonstrated in several races in Northeast Louisiana's municipal and primary elections on Saturday.

Three different races will go to runoffs after the leading vote-getter came up one percentage point short of winning outright, and another candidate missed out on winning one of five seats on the Rayville Board of Aldermen by a single vote.

Results are complete as of late Saturday, but unofficial until verified.

History was made Saturday, as Rodney Welch was elected to the West Monroe Board of Aldermen, and will be the first Black member of that body in the city's history.

Representation matters: Here's why this year's West Monroe alderman's race is historic
