ResMed Introduces AirSense 10 Devices to Treat Sleep Apnea

California-based medical equipment manufacturer Resmed Inc. (RMD) launched a continuous and automatic positive-airway pressure (:PAP) device platform titled “AirSense 10.” The AirSense 10 series PAP devices have been designed to support precise and customized patient care for the overall benefit of patients with respiratory disorders.

Notably, PAP devices are similar to respiratory ventilators used to treat patients suffering from sleep apnea. Sleep-disordered breathing (:SDB), commonly known as sleep apnea, is a common medical condition which causes one's breathing to shallow down or even stop for a few seconds or even more during sleep.

Per management, Resmed's new AirSense 10 continuous positive-airway pressure (:CPAP) and automatic positive-airway pressure (:APAP) devices are capable of offering high-level of comfort to sleep apnea patients. The platform also benefits healthcare providers with its advanced yet easy-to-use features. The AirSense 10 series incorporates an interconnected system of hardware and software solutions, which can efficiently streamline the monitoring process of a patient in tandem with providing superior therapy.

The AirSense 10 series integrates ResMed's AirView – a cloud based system used for managing patients suffering from SDB. AirView helps a physician to monitor and change a patient's device settings remotely along with tracking and analyzing the patient's device usage.

The AirSense 10 series devices are now obtainable in the U.S. and Australian markets and comprise of 4 new devices – AirSense 10 CPAP, AirSense 10 Elite, AirSense 10 AutoSet and AirSense 10 AutoSet for Her. It also boasts five key features that enable the devices to reap outstanding results in SDB therapy. These include Connected Care facility to always tracking patient therapy data; Remote Settings Changes and Troubleshooting for device checking; Integrated HumidAir heated humidifiers for an easy and convenient bedside placement; AutoRamp feature to comfortably adjust the pressure in sleep; and User-friendly Interface for easy handling.
