So, Taylor Swift is definitely singing about Tom Hiddleston on “Reputation’s” Track #11
Taylor Swift’s latest studio album is finally here, and oh boy, Reputation is something else. I like it, but don’t @ me, I’ve been a longtime Swifty, okay? I’m also a longtime Tom Hiddleston fan. So yes, the early spring through late fall of 2016 was a great time for me, since Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston were an ITEM. What a time to be alive, right?
But, since nothing gold can stay, the two parted ways in September 2016. I was very sad. And then I learned Swift was coming out with a new album and I was like !!!!! because that meant we were DEFINITELY going to get some Hiddleswift songs.
I continue to be super convinced that “Gorgeous,” Track #8 on the album, is about Hiddleston (OCEAN BLUE EYES? Come onnnn), but there might be another song about him, too. Track #11, “Dancing With Our Hands Tied.”
The song is very much about forbidden love, framed on two people who are dancing around but can’t necessarily act on their feelings right away. Remember the first time Swift and Hiddleston were spotted together in public? It was the 2016 Met Ball, and at the time, they were both dating other people (Swift was with Calvin Harris and Hiddleston was seeing Elizabeth Olsen). If you’ve seen the videos of them dancing together, it’s hard to deny there’s nothing there.

From there, Swift sings about how right from the start of their relationship, there was extreme pressure. Oh yes, just like how Hiddleswift went from like, 0 to 80 overnight.
People started talking, putting us through our paces
I knew there was know one in the world who could take it
I had a bad feeling
But we were dancing
The song ends with Tay once again singing about having a bad feeling about all of this, and feeling like she was dancing with her “hands tied.” It sure sounds like a relationship that maybe had a scandalous beginning — and like she couldn’t help herself.
Agree? Disagree? Will I spend the rest of my life trying to figure out if this song is about Tom Hiddleston? Probably. Reputation is out right now.
