Republicans' worst trait revealed to be 'inflexibility' in poll

Washington, Apr. 2 (ANI): As Republican leaders openly scrutinize their party after a 2012 election loss, rank-and-file Republicans, independents, and Democrats voice the same primary criticism of the GOP: it is 'too inflexible', a new poll has found. The Gallup Poll asked respondents to name two things they liked and disliked about the nation's political parties. More cited inflexibility and unwillingness to compromise than anything else - 21 percent overall, including 26 percent of Republicans. According to Politico, the poll found that 12 percent said the party was 'for the rich'. At the same time, the poll offered some backing for those who said the party should not back down in continued fights with President Barack Obama. Asked what they liked about the GOP, 11 percent said they were better fiscal managers and 10 percent praised their conservative views. One-third of Republicans could not say anything negative about their party, compared to 51 percent of Democrats. The top two complains about the Democratic Party were its spending, 14 percent, and its inflexibility, eight percent. The poll found that nearly 14 percent of the public praised Democrats for caring about the middle class, and five percent mentioned their support of social programmes, the report added. (ANI)
