Reports: Ex-Baylor RB Terence Williams to finish career at Houston
Terence Williams will reportedly finish his career at Houston.
According to 247Sports.com and the Houston Chronicle, Williams, who rushed for nearly 1,900 yards over three years at Baylor, will be immediately eligible to suit up for the Cougars in 2018 as a graduate transfer.
Williams will enroll at UH next week, both outlets reported.
Williams was Baylor’s top running back in 2016. That season, he finished the year with 1,048 yards and 11 touchdowns. As a freshman in 2015, he rushed for 556 yards and three scores on just 88 carries — a 6.3-yard average.
Williams was expected to be the Bears’ top running back in 2017, but he dealt with a variety of injuries and gained only 255 yards on 73 attempts.
Williams will try to help Houston fill the void left behind by Duke Catalon, who led the team in rushing the past two seasons but left the program in March.
The Cougars, entering year two with Major Applewhite as head coach, have added quite a few transfers. In addition to Williams, linebacker Darrion Owens (Miami), safety Deontay Anderson (Ole Miss), quarterback Quinten Dormady (Tennessee), defensive lineman Isaiah Chambers (TCU) and wide receiver Raelon Singleton (Utah) are all eligible for Houston this year.
UH went 7-5 last fall.
