Reporters told to evacuate DNC media center amid intense storm
Philadelphia — Reporters were told to evacuate the Democratic National Convention’s media space on Monday as a violent storm rocked the tent enclosing it.
As clouds rolled in, at one point the tent began violently shaking. Water flooded around wires for television and internet hookups. Lights swayed. Phones broadcasted a flash flood emergency warning, and reporters could hear the apparent sound of metal support hitting the ground.
The closest doors leading to the convention arena were locked for a Facebook party.
