Report: Visitors to Theodore Roosevelt National Park in ND spent more than $28 million in 2011

MEDORA, N.D. - A federal report shows that visitors to Theodore Roosevelt National Park in 2011 spent more than $28 million in communities surrounding the park.

The National Park Service report released earlier this week is based on an analysis by Michigan State University. It showed that more than 563,000 visitors explored the Medora park in 2011.

The report said the spending supported 451 jobs in the Medora area.

Valerie Naylor, Theodore Roosevelt National Park superintendent, calls the park "a wonderful place to learn about America's story."
