Report: Trump unfamiliar with provisions of U.S. nuclear arms treaty with Russia during call with Putin

In his first phone call Jan. 28 with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to a Reuters report, President Trump criticized the treaty called New START that was negotiated by former President Barack Obama in 2010 and entered into force in 2011. Sources said that Putin wanted to discuss extending the treaty in the call, but that Trump was not familiar with its provisions. According to the report, Trump then referred to it as one of the many bad deals Obama negotiated.
