Report: Stars get Horcoff from Edmonton

The Dallas Stars reportedly made a second significant trade Thursday.

Hours after acquiring centers Tyler Seguin and Rich Peverley and defenseman Ryan Button in a trade with the Boston Bruins, the Starts obtained center Shawn Horcoff from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for defenseman Philip Larsen and the Stars' seventh-round pick in 2016, Sportsnet reported.

Horcoff, 34, had seven goals and five assists in 31 games for the Edmonton last season. Larsen, 23, had three goals and two assists in 31 games for Dallas.

Horcoff carries a $5.5 million cap hit through 2014-15. However, his salary is lower than his cap hit in the two final seasons -- $4 million in 2013-14 and $3 million in 2014-15.
