Report: Sister of Calif. amnesiac found

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (AP) — A newspaper says it's found the sister of a Florida man who had no memory of his past when he was found at a Palm Springs motel.

The Desert Sun ( says Michelle Brewer of Louisiana couldn't shed much light on what happened to 61-year-old Michael Boatwright.

She told the paper Monday that she hadn't spoken to him for a decade and couldn't even get in touch with him when their mother died last year. She calls him a wanderer who only returned to his Florida home when he needed money.

Boatwright has been at a hospital since he was found unconscious at a motel in February. He awoke speaking Swedish and apparently had lived in Sweden for some years.

Doctors say physical or emotional trauma may have triggered amnesia.
