Report: Phillies agree to re-sign RHP Hunter

The Philadelphia Phillies have agreed to re-sign right-handed reliever Tommy Hunter to a contract for the 2020 season, according to an MLB.com report Saturday.

Per the report, Hunter will be the 70th player in Philadelphia's spring training camp, although it is unclear if the contract is a major league deal or not.

Hunter, 33, missed the majority of last season because of a strained right forearm that forced him to spend two separate stints on the Phillies' 60-day injured list last season.

The 12-year veteran signed with the Phillies as a free agent on a two-year, $18 million deal in December 2017. He went 5-4 with a 3.80 ERA in 65 appearances in 2018, but was able to pitch only 5 1/3 scoreless innings of relief in his injury-riddled 2019 campaign.

In 448 career games (75 starts) with six teams, namely the Orioles and Rangers, Hunter is 56-44 with a 4.08 ERA with 21 saves.
