Report: Grizzlies hire Jerry Stackhouse as assistant coach
The Memphis Grizzlies have hired Jerry Stackhouse to be an assistant under head coach J.B. Bickerstaff, ESPN reports.
The 18-year NBA veteran’s name has come up in multiple coaching vacancies recently. Since retiring as a player in 2013, Stackhouse has served as an assistant with the Toronto Raptors and most recently as head coach of the Raptors’ G League affiliate Raptors 905.
The two-time All-Star has seen his coaching star rise after leading Raptors 905 to back to back G League Finals, including the 2017 championship. He was the G League coach of the year in 2017.
He interviewed for the Raptors and New York Knicks head coaching vacancies last month.
