Report: Canton man, 29, shot dead in Cleveland

CLEVELAND − A 29-year-old Canton man was shot and killed Thursday morning during an argument at a drive-thru in northeast Cleveland, the website Cleveland.com reported.

The news site said the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office identified the victim as Terez Avery.

Cleveland Police told Cleveland.com that Avery was visiting the A.J.'s Deli and Drive Thru on St. Clair Avenue at East 103rd Street in the city's Glenville neighborhood y around 11:20 a.m. He began arguing with another man in the parking lot. That man drew a gun and shot Avery in the chest, according to the news site. Avery was pronounced dead at University Hospitals.

The news site reports that no arrests have been made yet but police are investigating a person of interest.

Spokespeople for the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office and Cleveland Police could not immediately be reached for comment Friday evening.
