Repeat identity thief sentenced to more than 6 years in jail

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A repeat identity thief was sentenced to 79 months in prison, officials said.

According to the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, Sarah Rebecca Salo, 46, committed numerous crimes involving identity theft and “account takeovers” where she impersonated people to steal from their bank accounts.

On February 15th, Salo was sentenced to 36 months for aggravated identity theft, 30 months served consecutively for unauthorized use of a vehicle, 13 months served consecutively for first-degree theft and two counts of identity theft, and 364 days served concurrently for giving false information to an officer in connection with a warrant.

Salo is also facing pending charges in Columbia County and the state of Washington.
