GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Rep. Ken Buck announced Tuesday he’s resigning effective March 22.

Rep. Buck, who was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in November 2014, previously announced in November 2023 he would not be seeking a sixth term in Congress, with current 3rd District Rep. Lauren Boebert announcing her run for the position shortly after.

Shortly after Rep. Buck’s announcement came down, Governor Polis’ office announced a special election to fill the position will take place June 25, the same day as Colorado’s primary election.
