Rep. Cole visits PTC

Mar. 27—Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04) released the following statement after visiting the Pontotoc Technology Center in Ada, Oklahoma. This comes after Congressman Cole was able to secure $4.5 million for the Tech Center in the Fiscal Year 2024 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations bill.

"The Pontotoc Technology Center is such an essential part of our community, as they help to provide a trained workforce in Oklahoma for so many different critical professions including nurses, electricians, firefighters, paramedics, welders, EMTs, and much more. This is why I am very proud to have secured $4.5 million in government funding for the Tech Center, which will allow them to expand and renovate existing facilities to provide more classroom space, as well as accommodate special needs students," said Congressman Cole.

"As a member of the House Appropriations Committee and the Representative for the Fourth District of Oklahoma, it will always be a priority of mine to ensure that I am working to benefit my constituents when we work to fund the government year after year, and I look forward to seeing these renovations begin at the Pontotoc Technology Center in Ada."

"The $4.5 million allocation for the Community Project at Pontotoc Technology Center will allow growth for our institution as we serve the growing communities in Pontotoc County and Southern Oklahoma. Congressman Cole's office has been very thorough and gracious with their time and effort in assisting us through the allocation process," said Superintendent Travis Graham.

The funding will be used to construct and improve a healthcare facility for current and future health specific programs. By extending our current educational space, Pontotoc Technology Center will be able to extend the current and future capacities of our existing programs, which will create new industry pathways to a diverse workforce. The increase in high quality industry specific training will make an economic impact in the communities we serve."
