Rental home open houses to be held in Corning

CORNING, N.Y. (WETM) — A newly constructed housing development that sits on the site of a former Corning school is holding open houses this week for people interested in renting.

Northside Place is a new single-family rental house community located on the piece of land where the former Northside Blodgett Middle School used to sit. The Corning-Painted Post School District sold the closed middle school to Arbor Housing and Development in 2016. Arbor Housing demolished the old school building and converted the lot into developable land. It eventually transferred the property over to Riedman Companies, which now manages the homes it built on the land.

Old Steuben County Courthouse could become apartments

The Northside Place housing complex is comprised of 25 one and two-story houses on Cayuta Street, Princeton Avenue, Onondaga Street, and Kingsbury Avenue. There are currently five houses with three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms and three houses with two bedrooms and two bathrooms available to rent. All of the houses come with two-car garages, and snow removal, lawn maintenance, and landscaping are included. All features and amenities can be seen on Northside Place’s website.

Those who may be interested in renting one of these homes are invited to attend an open house by visiting 157 Princeton Ave. in Corning between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, or Friday, May 10, or from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 11.
