Remains of Jamilla Smith found in woods off Silver Bluff Rd.
AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF) – The Aiken County Sheriff announced Friday that the remains of Jamilla Smith have been located.
Authorities say she was found in a wooded area in the 2100 block of Silver Bluff Road.
The Aiken County Coroner Daryll Ables, Aiken Department of Public Safety and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division assisted with the recovery efforts.
According to the coroner, after family notifications were made, he identified the remains as
Jamilla and has ordered an autopsy. “”We have taken statements, evidence processing. There’s still a significant amount of evidence that needs to be processed electronic data and so forth,” said Aiken County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Eric Abdullah.
This investigation began in December after Jamilla was reported missing.
Daniel Gabriel Harmon, Bryan Alexander Hampton Jr, and Clyde Hendley II were arrested as a result of this investigation.
