BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — People in and around Baton Rouge have the chance to see the relic of St. Jude the Apostle this March.

St. Jude was one of the 12 original apostles of Jesus Christ and he is known “as the patron of hope and impossible causes,” according to the Diocese of Baton Rouge. The relic is the arm of St. Jude Thaddeus.

Religious leaders describe relics as “physical objects that have a direct association with the saints or with Our Lord.”

Religious leaders said the relic has been on a pilgrimage throughout the United States since September 2003. It will come to an end in May 2024 after making stops in 100 cities, the Diocese of Baton Rouge said.

The relic will be at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St. George Drive, from 3:30-10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13. The Diocese of Baton Rouge said a special Mass in honor of St. Jude will take place at 7 p.m.
