REI Beaverton marks the co-op’s ninth store in Oregon, including Bend, Eugene, Clackamas, Hillsboro, Tualatin, Salem-Keizer and Medford. The grand opening comes after the company announced its decision to cut 357 jobs nationwide and closed its only location in Portland.

According to the company, the Pearl District store had its highest number of break-ins and thefts in two decades during 2023, despite actions to provide extra security. It closed its doors on Feb. 1.
