Registered sex offender arrested for child pornography in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man who is a registered sex offender was arrested by the New Mexico Department of Justice’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Division for child pornography.

Mario “Troy” Colangelo, 53, was arrested for possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material of children under the age of 13.

During the investigation, it was discovered that Colangelo, a registered sex offender with a long criminal history, including five previous arrests for possession of and/or distributing child sexual abuse material, legally changed his name from Troy Shelby to Mario Colangelo after he moved to New Mexico from West Virginia.
