Reese Witherspoon gives her best mea culpa on ‘Good Morning ‘America’ [VIDEO]

Reese Witherspoon put on her best public groveling face for an interview with George Stephanopoulos on “Good Morning America” Thursday.

The actress was there to promote her latest indie movie, “Mud,” but discussing her arrest for disorderly conduct for drunkenly yelling “Do you know my name?” is far more interesting.

Witherspoon said that the arrests happened on “one of those nights.”

“We went out to dinner in Atlanta and we had one too many glasses of wine,” she said. “We thought we were fine to drive and we absolutely were not. We know better and we shouldn’t have done that.”

Stephanopoulos pressed her on the incriminating things she said during her arrest. Witherspoon chalked it up to being drunk and ridiculous.

“I saw him arresting my husband and I literally panicked. I told him I was pregnant. I’m not pregnant! I said all kinds of crazy things.”

“It’s just completely unacceptable and we are so sorry and embarrassed,” Witherspoon said. “I think we made a mistake and it was something that will absolutely never happen again.”
