Reebok responds to Trump's comments to Brigitte Macron with chart showing when they would be 'appropriate'

Sports apparel company Reebok has responded with to Donald Trump's comments to Brigitte Macron with a chart outlining scenarios when the comments would be "appropriate".

Mr Trump said France's First Lady, wife of President Emmanuel Macron, was "beautiful" and "in such good shape" repeatedly during what many called an awkward interaction at the beginning of the US President's visit to Paris for Bastille Day.

There was only one, according to Reebok: “Did you just find a forgotten action figure from your youth, unscathed after decades, in your parents’ basement?”

The company took to Mr Trump's favoured public outreach forum, Twitter, to share the chart.

The chart reads "Are you a world leader greeting the spouse of a head of state?," with an arrow pointing to "No".

The company's social media presence often tweets images of athletic men and women and the chart seemed to promote a message of equality and respect for women.

Mr Trump has encountered criticism for his views of women on numerous occasions.

On the campaign trail, audio of Mr Trump speaking in a derogatory manner about "grabbing" women's genitals was made public as well as reports of him walking unannounced into dressing rooms of young women competing in the Miss Universe pageants he owned.

He has also spoken about "blood" and women like MSNBC news hosts Mika Brezezinski and Megyn Kelly as well.
