Redskins make a move up in Power Rankings ahead of Lions

Our Washington Redskins are going into the Lions den to face the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford has the ability to pick defenses apart when not pressured. Stafford will be playing in his 100th game. The Lions record is 3-3, winning their last two games.

“Power Rankings” are not that accurate with only 6 games played, but most “experts”, like those at the NFL Network, are ranking Washington at #12 and the Lions at #16.

The Redskins O-line and defense is underrated in my view and I see Washington rushing for more than 200 yards on the Lions, mixed with equal passing yard and some Kirk Cousins touchdown passes in the red zone. I also predict our improved rushing defense will pressure Stafford and get sacks, while our secondary is overdue for forced turnovers and interceptions.

Our Washington Redskins are a team on the rise and improving on offense and defense. It appears that Offensive Coordinator Sean McVay is calling better plays now that he is high up in the coaches booth seeing the entire field.

Defensive Coordinator Joe Barry seems to have corrected poor tackling issues as his defense has not give up any touchdowns in the second half of their most recent games. In fact against the high flying Eagles, they sacked quarterback Carson Wentz 6 times and pressured him virtually the entire game. In that game, the defense only gave up 2 field goals, keep the Eagles from scoring a touchdown.

Assuming our Redskins will play smart without many penalties and our O-line will dominate the Lions front 7, I see our Redskins scoring over 32 points and our defense keeping the Lions under 21 points. I believe the team doctor and the independent doctor will clear Jordan Reed and Su’a Cravens to play Sunday. Both are under the league supervised concussion protocol.

Maybe after our BYE week, we might see a healthy 1st Round pick Josh Doctson.

Prepare to celebrate our 5th straight win and be 5-2. We LOVE Victory Mondays.

HAIL, HTTR.
