Redlands Rotary Club hosts D51 candidate forum

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The Redlands Rotary Club hosted its second District 51 candidate forum on Friday at Redlands Mesa Golf Club.

After eating lunch, candidates Barbara Evanson and Cindy Enos-Martinez fielded questions from rotary club members concerning D51 issues.

Enos-Martinez is a native of Mesa County and has been invested in education since her son began school. Evanson, on the other hand, is a former marine and law enforcement officer and worked in the Orchard Mesa schools as a security officer.

Evanson and Enos-Martinez discussed school safety, banning books, bullying and teacher retention. The two now await the election on November 7th which will decide the School Board seat in District B.
