Reding and Condley in race for District No 2 have confirmed public appearances

May 13—Chris Reding and Seth Condley are in the running for the Payne County Commissioner District 2 seat that will be decided this summer.

With no Democrat, Independent or Libertarian candidate there is no general election in November, and the primary election on June 18 will determine the next Commissioner District 2.

Reding, 62, is a Stillwater native and graduated from C.E. Donart High School (now Stillwater High School) and Oklahoma State University.

He has served as the incumbent on the Board of County Commissioners in Payne County for almost 12 years. He is a member of the Republican party.

Seth Condley, 46, also from the Republican party, is seeking his first term in elected office.

Condley has been in Stillwater and Payne County for close to three decades.

He was born and raised in Muskogee, where he graduated from Muskogee High School in 1996.

After high school, he attended Oklahoma State University and is currently a Stillwater Junior High School teacher and is head coach for the Stillwater High School boys' soccer team.

The two candidates have confirmed for the News Press they have scheduled public appearances and presentations on their views of issues in Payne County leading up to the election.

On May 30, Condley and Reding will be speaking with the Stillwater Frontier Rotary from noon to 1 p.m. For more information, email FrontierRotary@gmail.

On June 7, both candidates will attend the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce Legislative Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call 405-372-5573.

On June 11, Reding and Condley will be with the Stillwater Kiwanis Club from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The League of Women Voters will be submitting questions to each candidate in June with the expectation of written responses. They will not appear live in a joint forum for the LWV.

Condley expects to appear on TV31 on June 4 in the morning. Reding will also make on-air appearances and has yet to announce days and times.

To this date, neither candidate has yet reported to the News Press as to if they have received any official endorsements for office.
