BOSTON (AP) — The Boston Red Sox say a man who apparently committed suicide on team owner John Henry's yacht was a crew member on the vessel.
In a statement Monday, the team says the man took his life while the yacht was docked at Rowes Wharf, near the city's financial district. The team says that fellow crew members were the only other people on board at the time.
It says that Henry and members of the Red Sox are saddened by the death and send "deepest condolences to his family."
A Boston police spokeswoman says the man was 28 to 30 years old.
