Red Cross Is Shut Out of Homs (Again), Syria Breaks Its Word (Again)

Despite getting earlier approval from international authorities including Syrian allies Russia and China, the Red Cross' seven-truck convoy of food and medical has been stopped from delivering aid, demonstrating again that no one should expect Syrian forces and President Bashar al-Assad to keep their word. The situation looked brighter earlier today as envoy rolled into Homs and planned to distribute the aid supplies in the beseiged district of Baba Amr, from which opposition fighters the Free Syrian Army had withdrawn yesterday. In addition to the BBC, The Guardian's live blog by their correspondent on the ground confirms that Syrian government forces are in control of Baba Amr and the Red Cross is still being shut out.
