At least one person is dead after a team of insurgents executed a coordinated attack on the Red Cross office in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, on Wednesday, and now two men are in a gunfight with Afghan security forces inside.

Reuters reports a suicide bomber blew himself up in front of the International Committee of the Red Cross gates around 5:30 p.m. local time. Two gunmen entered the building after the explosion and are currently in a gunfight with Afghan security forces, the Associated Press reports. The black smoke from the explosion can be seen over the roof tops across Jalalabad.
Al-Jazeera reports at least one Afghan guard died in the initial explosion. There's no word yet about further causalities or injuries. An ICRC spokesman told Reuters there are dozens of local employees and six foreign workers employed at the base that was attacked. All six foreign workers have been confirmed safe.
